Aleesha Darlison (writer of forty-five books for children including picture books, chapter books, novels and a series including ‘Stripes in the Forrest’, ‘Free’, & ‘Running from the Tiger’ – Children’s Books)
Aleesah Darlison is a multi-published, award-winning author. She has written forty-five books for children including picture books, chapter books, novels and series. Aleesah has won numerous awards including the 2015 Environment Award for Children’s Literature and an Australian Society of Authors mentorship. She is also a CBCA Notable Book award recipient and was shortlisted for the 2018 Speech Pathology Book of the Year Awards.
Aleesah loves championing the cause of literacy and reading and spends much of her time travelling throughout Australia and internationally encouraging adults and children to use their imaginations and teaching them creative writing. She also owns Greenleaf Press, which runs a speaker’s agency for authors and illustrators and holds events like the Sunshine Writers Retreat, the Greenleaf Memoir & Family History Writing Weekend, and Sunny Kids Holiday Writing Camps. Aleesah lives in Buderim with her husband, four children and her rather energetic Tenterfield terrier, Lexie.
